Each of us is unique. What we are belongs only to us, no one else. What we have to offer the world is our very own, something that only we can give. We have the choice, every moment of every day, to give that gift of ourselves or to withhold it. The world will be a better place if we give it our gifts.

Stop for a moment today and consider what it is you have to give. Have you been sharing yourself?

Have you ever thought about the fact that you could briefly meet someone today who is on the verge of harming him/herself? Your smile, your caring, your interest might be just what that person needs today to change his direction. Your frown, your lack of concern, your indifference might be what sends her over the edge. You never know when your gift might be just what someone needs to make it through another day. How important you could be to a stranger and not even know it.

If, at times, you have feelings that you really haven’t made a difference, remember you can’t possibly know whether that is true or not.
