The Inspirational Essay "Enthusiasm" Perhaps the older we are the more likely we are to have been brought up in a world of diminished enthusiasm. There was a certain "straight-laced" decorum in many households. "Children should be seen and not heard." In days past it was considered by some to be rude to yell or shout with excitement. It just wasn’t done. Too bad, really. . .there is so much that is exciting about life! Many successful business people have explained that part of their success lies in the fact that they were enthusiastic about what they were doing and never lost that enthusiasm, even when times were tough or things looked bleak. Here are a few words the dictionary and thesaurus use for enthusiasm. . .eagerness. . .ardor. . . excitement. . .verve. . .zeal. . .fervor. . .fire. Think on these words. Don’t they bring a zest to your being that wasn’t there before? When your day, or even something as large as your long-term goal, seems to be bogging down, think some fire back into it.
